[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-sun] ‘2022 The GLASS,’ the first liquor expo in Daegu and Gyeongbuk, will be held for three days starting from the 9th at Daegu EXCO West Hall.
The GLASS is hosted by Global Biz Market, an exhibition specialist company with a solid overseas network, co-organized by Messe Esang, the largest exhibition organizer in Korea, and DOC, a Daegu-based exhibition organizer, and supported by Daegu City and EXCO.
The exhibition items at this expo include traditional liquor, wine, whiskey, cocktails, imported liquors, side dishes, food and beverages, and liquor accessories. The main programs consist of liquor tasting sessions, side events, and various activities, allowing visitors to experience a diverse and rich liquor culture all in one place.
In particular, at the liquor tasting sessions held at the booths of participating companies, visitors can taste and experience over 500 types of liquors.
To participate in the tasting sessions, visitors must bring their own personal tasting glass, but glasses can also be purchased on-site. A wine glass washer is prepared at the venue to facilitate smooth tasting.
Various side events that satisfy the five senses of liquor enthusiasts are also prepared.
A dazzling cocktail show by Professor Kim Ji-soo of Keimyung Culture University and Director Jeon Chan-hyuk of the Korea Cocktail Brewing Association is expected to captivate visitors’ attention. Also notable are the plating class by Director Hwang Seung-ho of the Korea Sommelier Association and the wine class by Kang Soon-pil, wine lover and Romanian wine ambassador.
In addition, traditional liquor seminars introducing brewing secrets by master brewers and traditional liquor making experiences will be held over the three days.
Every day, the first 100 visitors will receive a free wine glass through an open-run event, and various gifts will be instantly awarded through three prize draws held daily during the event period.
The event name ‘The GLASS’ carries the meaning of ‘an event to enjoy even a single glass of liquor deliciously and elegantly, reflecting the diverse liquor culture and lifestyle of the MZ generation who want to enjoy drinking alone (honsul) and drinking at home (homsul) in a very stylish (HIP) way.’
The GLASS is expected to lead the liquor culture and trends in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions as an exhibition that satisfies the sensibilities of the MZ generation and liquor enthusiasts.
The admission fee for The GLASS is 15,000 won, and detailed information such as the liquor class schedule and prize events can be found on the official event website.
