[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Krafton announced on the 6th that it received the 2022 '1 Billion Dollar Export Tower' award in celebration of the 59th anniversary of 'Trade Day.'
The 'Export Tower' is an award hosted by the Korea International Trade Association and organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, given to companies that have contributed to enhancing national export competitiveness and industrial development.
Krafton has received the Export Tower award three times, with 600 million dollars in 2018, 800 million dollars in 2021, and now the 1 billion dollar tower. Notably, this year, it was the only game company to achieve 1 billion dollars in exports, demonstrating strong performance as a global game company with 94% of its revenue coming from overseas sales.
Changhan Kim, CEO of Krafton, stated, “Receiving the 1 Billion Dollar Export Tower award recognizes that content such as Battlegrounds has significantly contributed to the national economy and industrial development,” and added, “Krafton will continue to discover and expand global mega IPs based on its game development and publishing capabilities, raising the status of the Korean game industry.”
Krafton has been implementing platform, service, and region-specific strategies to meet the expectations of global users, centered on its flagship game 'PUBG: Battlegrounds,' which is serviced in over 200 countries worldwide. Additionally, on December 2nd, it globally launched the survival horror game 'The Callisto Protocol.'
