[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Shinsegae International announced on the 6th that niche perfume brand Diptyque will operate a holiday pop-up store for ten days until the 14th of this month at Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam Branch's ‘The Stage’.


The Diptyque pop-up store is inspired by the 2022 holiday collection themed ‘Map of Stars’ and is decorated with a motif of a night sky full of sparkling starlight. The brand uniquely interprets the fascinating legends of 88 constellations, and the golden and silver alphabet letters symbolizing Diptyque are lavishly decorated as if embroidered across the night sky, creating a fantastic year-end atmosphere.


The pop-up store is largely divided into three spaces: the ‘Holiday Collection,’ where limited edition perfumes and candles can be found, and the ‘Decoration Collection,’ which showcases home decoration items. Each space allows visitors to experience the products firsthand while moving along the flow as if traveling through a star country.


The representative products of the Holiday Collection are three limited edition candles released as ‘Sapin,’ expressing the woody scent of mountain pine; ‘Neige,’ poetically expressing soft white musk and the gentle snowflakes of a midwinter night; and ‘Etincelle,’ capturing the scent of coffee, sweet chocolate, and burning firewood. They are sold in 70g or 190g sizes, with the 190g version including a golden lid (lead) that prevents the scent from dissipating easily or dust from accumulating on the surface.


To commemorate the opening of the pop-up store, various customer appreciation events have been prepared. First, after touring the store and receiving tour stamps at each section, customers can participate in an event offering Diptyque candles and perfume samples. There is also an event where customers who upload a certification photo on Instagram with a hashtag receive popular perfume samples on-site, along with generous gifts for purchasers.


A Diptyque representative from Shinsegae International said, "Since it is decorated with a special holiday concept that cannot be experienced at existing stores, it will become a year-end hot spot that people in their 20s and 30s who enjoy taking certification and life shots must visit."
