[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seoyoon] SK Incheon Petrochem announced on the 6th that it received the Presidential Citation at the '2022 Korea Volunteer Awards' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

SK Incheon Petrochem received the Presidential Citation at the 17th National Volunteer Conference held at Yonsei University Centennial Hall the day before, commemorating Volunteer Day.

All employees of SK Incheon Petrochem belong to volunteer groups and regularly participate in volunteer activities. The company was recognized for exemplary volunteer activities such as Sanhaejinmi Plogging, care for elderly living alone, and support for the independence of children with developmental disabilities, which are practical ESG activities in collaboration with the local community.

It also received high praise for continuously carrying out win-win projects for partner company members and the local community through the 1% Happiness Sharing Fund, created by employees donating 1% of their base salary.

Choi Yunseok, CEO of SK Incheon Petrochem, said at the awards ceremony, "Although insufficient, I believe we received this award thanks to the warm hearts of all members who want to work together with the local community," and added, "We will continue to strive to build a social safety net for the underprivileged as a local company leading the culture of volunteering and sharing."

The Korea Volunteer Awards, jointly hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Korea Volunteer Center Association, and the Korea Volunteer Council, are given to individuals, organizations, and companies that have contributed to the promotion of volunteering in commemoration of the United Nations-designated International Volunteer Day.
