Hwasun-gun Launches 'Water Conservation Campaign' at Neungju Traditional Market

[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyuk-jun] Jeollanam-do Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Bok-gyu) announced on the 5th that it conducted a 'Water Conservation Campaign' around Neungju Traditional Market.

About 60 people participated in the campaign, including the Disaster Safety Division, Water and Sewage Business Office, Neungju-myeon, and Hwasun-gun Regional Autonomous Disaster Prevention Group.

The campaign participants guided water-saving practices that can be implemented at home, such as ▲ lowering faucet water pressure ▲ reducing shower time ▲ doing laundry all at once ▲ using a cup for brushing teeth ▲ placing water bottles in the toilet tank ▲ using a dishwashing basin, and urged everyone to cooperate to overcome the drought.

A county official said, "The reservoir levels of Dongbok Dam and Juam Dam, the water sources, are each around 30%, and if the drought continues, depletion is expected by March next year, making water supply restrictions inevitable." He added, "It is urgently necessary for all residents to participate in water conservation to overcome the drought crisis."

Meanwhile, the county plans to operate a 'Drought Countermeasure Disaster Situation Room' until the drought is resolved to monitor the drought situation and focus on promotional activities to establish a culture of water conservation in daily life.
