Ulju-gun Selected for 'SRT Award Grand Prize' as Best Travel Destination for Two Consecutive Years

Praise for the Charm of Mountains and Sea at Yeongnam Alps and Ganjeolgot

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Ulju-gun, Ulsan City, was selected for the second consecutive year as the winner of the ‘SRT Award Grand Prize’ for the best travel destination this year.

On the 5th, Ulju-gun held the ‘2022 SRT Award Grand Prize’ presentation ceremony attended by County Governor Lee Soon-geol, the Director of the Administrative and Cultural Bureau, the General Affairs Manager, and other related officials.

The SRT Award, selected and announced by the SRT in-train magazine ‘SRT Magazine,’ has been held since 2018 to choose the best travel destinations in Korea and to revitalize domestic travel culture.

This year’s SRT Award reflected a survey of 10,093 readers during the month of September, followed by a first round of screening. The final selection was made through a second round of evaluation by travel writers and travel specialist reporters, choosing a total of 10 tourist destinations including Ulju-gun.

Ulju received high praise as a tourist destination where visitors can enjoy both mountain and sea attractions, featuring the magnificent Yeongnam Alps with its nine beautiful peaks including Gajisan, Sinbulsan, Ganwolsan, and Yeongchuksan, as well as the beautiful coast of Ganjeolgot, where the sun rises first in Korea.

The December issue of SRT Magazine introduces 10 carefully selected Ulju tourist spots: ▲ Eonyang Alps Market ▲ Eonyang Hyanggyo Confucian School ▲ Munsu Mountain Munsusa Temple ▲ Onsilrium, the first private garden greenhouse ▲ Sogolmot and Keungolmot ponds in Onyang-eup ▲ Yeongnam Alps Complex Welcome Center ▲ Eonyang and Bonggye Hanwoo Bulgogi Special Zone ▲ Ganjeolgot ▲ Ulsan Arboretum ▲ Daebawi Park connecting Myeongseondo Island and Ganjeolgot.
