All Financial Institution Accounts Traded on the Home Screen Can Be Registered and Managed
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] KakaoBank announced on the 5th that it will revamp its mobile application home screen and open banking services.
First, KakaoBank will improve its open banking service so that customers can manage not only their KakaoBank accounts but also accounts from other financial institutions in one place within the KakaoBank app without distinction.
Accordingly, users can register and manage all their financial institution accounts on the home screen, which is the first screen encountered in the KakaoBank app. In addition to the existing open banking services such as real-time balance inquiry and transfers between different banks, the service has been enhanced to allow account transaction history inquiries, increasing its completeness.
Accounts from other financial institutions can also be customized just like KakaoBank accounts, allowing users to freely set account names, colors, and more according to their preferences. Convenience has been improved so that users can edit the home screen focusing on frequently used accounts.
Furthermore, KakaoBank offers a service that allows new customers to use banking services without opening a KakaoBank account. Customers visiting the KakaoBank app for the first time can register their existing accounts from other banks or securities firms with KakaoBank and use banking services such as balance and transaction history inquiries and transfers without opening a KakaoBank account.
Along with the home screen improvements, a new dedicated screen for individual business owners called 'Sajangnim Home' has been introduced. Sajangnim Home is a customized page that gathers only what individual business customers need, providing banking services exclusively for business customers.
A KakaoBank official stated, "We have improved the home screen so that more customers can easily use KakaoBank," adding, "We will strengthen our position as a financial platform so that all banking services can be freely used within the KakaoBank app."
