SBC Supports Employment for 133 Work Experience Interns This Year

[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Minjae] The Small Enterprise and Market Service (SEMAS) announced on the 5th that it has hired a total of 133 people from June this year to February next year through participation in the Ministry of Employment and Labor's National Employment Support System work experience program. This is the largest scale among public institutions located in Daejeon and Chungcheong.

The work experience program is operated by the Ministry of Employment and Labor to strengthen employment capabilities and promote employment through job experience for vulnerable employment groups. SEMAS signed a business agreement with the Daejeon Regional Office of the Ministry of Employment and Labor last June.

The 113 people hired in the first half of the year performed tasks such as loss compensation funds, policy funds, and traditional market support for three months at 77 regional centers nationwide. For the second half, 20 interns were hired, prioritizing socially vulnerable groups such as youth preparing for independence. They will experience various small business and traditional market support tasks at the SEMAS headquarters and regional centers for three months.

SEMAS provides expert-invited employment capability enhancement training and one-on-one close mentoring with SEMAS employees to support the employment of work experience interns. Interns who complete the work experience program receive additional points when applying for positions at the corporation. Completers receive a 3% bonus in the document screening stage, outstanding interns receive a 5% bonus in the document screening, and a 3% bonus is also given in the written and interview stages.

Park Seonghyo, Director of SEMAS, said, “We expect the work experience program to serve as a stepping stone that can lead to actual employment,” and added, “We will fulfill our social responsibility as a public institution by providing various opportunities to job seekers so that the employment market can regain vitality.”
