Dongdaemun-gu Holds Warm and Happy Year-End Party with Music

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) will hold the '2022 Dongdaemun-gu Year-end Concert' for the first time in three years at 7 p.m. on the 8th in the multipurpose auditorium on the 2nd floor of the district office.

The '2022 Dongdaemun-gu Year-end Concert' is themed 'Exciting, Warm, and Happy Year-end' and has prepared high-quality performances in various genres such as jazz, popera, gugak, and trot for all residents to enjoy together. This concert is especially meaningful as it is the first to be held in three years since it was suspended due to COVID-19.

The year-end concert will feature ▲Jinseong, a national singer known as the BTS of trot with representative songs such as 'At Andong Station,' 'Barley Hill,' and 'Don't Tackle Me,' who has been loved for a long time with his husky voice ▲Popera group POMAS, who have appeared on prominent broadcasts such as JTBC Phantom Singer and SBS Fantastic Duo, and have accumulated diverse stage experience including winning famous domestic and international competitions.

Also appearing are ▲Ha Yoon-joo, a gugak goddess and vocalist of Jeongga (traditional Korean songs), designated as the holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property No. 30 for Gagok, who combines classical voice with modern sensibility ▲Moon Jazz Band, which will warm the audience’s hearts with sophisticated jazz style and popular arrangements, decorating the stage.

To soothe the sadness of saying goodbye to the year with beloved family and neighbors and to welcome a hopeful new year, the concert will be free of charge, and residents who wish to attend can enter on a first-come, first-served basis without prior reservation.

Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, “We prepared the year-end concert hoping to warm the sudden cold of December as the year ends and to create good memories. I hope everyone can finish the year warmly and happily at the year-end concert, sharing warm words and encouragement with each other in an exciting and warm year-end preparing for a hopeful new year.”
