Hwasun Solmaeum and Hyosan-ri Gardens Registered as Private Gardens in Jeonnam

[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyuk-jun] Jeollanam-do Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Bok-gyu) announced on the 2nd that Solmaeum Garden located in Iyang-myeon and Hyosan-ri Garden located in Dogok-myeon have been registered as Jeollanam-do Private Gardens No. 19 and No. 20, respectively.

Solmaeum Garden covers an area of 26,320㎡ and is equipped with facilities such as an ecological botanical garden, native flower garden, and Mokryeok Garden. It is a garden beautifully arranged with about 1,000 species of trees and shrubs and about 400 species of herbaceous plants, harmonizing various flowers and trees throughout the four seasons.

Hyosan-ri Garden is a 7,000㎡ landscape-style garden created with the passion of an elderly couple. The garden is themed around the hydrangea garden and birch forest, creating a harmonious composition.

Both gardens won the grand prize and special prize, respectively, at the Jeollanam-do Beautiful Garden Contest in 2022 and 2020.

A county official said, "The registration of private gardens is expected to have a positive impact on the construction of an ecological garden city, Hwasun," and added, "We will continue to discover and register excellent private gardens and do our best to revitalize garden culture in daily life."
