[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon District Office, visited the snow removal countermeasure site on the afternoon of the 2nd ahead of the weekend snow forecast to thoroughly check the progress of the measures.

First, at the Mokdong Snow Removal Forward Base, Mayor Lee received a report on the progress of snow removal measures, checked the management status of de-icing agents, and then visited the sections where fixed automatic brine spraying devices and mobile liquid de-icing agent spraying devices were installed to carefully inspect their operation status.

Since the launch of the Snow Removal Countermeasure Headquarters on the 15th of last month, Yangcheon District has increased the number of fixed automatic liquid spraying devices by four this year and expanded mobile automatic liquid spraying devices to 70 units across 21 locations.

Additionally, snow removal equipment and safety supplies were further procured to establish a response system that enables prompt snow removal operations during heavy snowfall.

The district also plans to invest an additional 300 million KRW this winter to double the automatic liquid spraying devices and reinforce manpower and vehicles to minimize inconvenience to residents caused by heavy snow.
