On the 4th, the FSS announced that it has established regulations regarding the collection and management of digital data related to inspection tasks to protect the rights and interests of employees of financial companies.
With the digitalization of finance, the need to advance the proof of violations related to financial company inspections through forensics has increased, and there have been calls to strengthen the protection of the rights and interests of the inspected employees accordingly.
Accordingly, the FSS plans to make every effort to prove the facts during the inspection process before requesting data submission through digital forensics, using digital forensics only as a supplementary means. In addition, the participation of users and others in the digital forensic process will be thoroughly guaranteed, and digital data will be collected minimally within the scope necessary for the inspection.
Furthermore, in the process of collecting digital data, it will be a principle to receive data by selecting and extracting digital data related to inspection tasks, and the procedures from collection to disposal will be strictly followed.
The FSS will announce the regulations on the collection and management of digital data in advance on the FSS website, finalize the regulations after collecting external opinions, and apply them from the digital data collection inspections conducted thereafter.
