Gwangju Chamber of Commerce Holds Completion Ceremony for the 7th Gwangju Employment Expert Academy

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced on the 2nd that it held the ‘7th Gwangju Employment Experts Academy 7th Training and Completion Ceremony’ at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center on the 1st.

The ‘Gwangju Employment Experts Academy,’ conducted over seven sessions from April to December, was promoted as part of the Gwangju regional innovation project hosted by Gwangju Metropolitan City and the Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office. It was designed to strengthen the capabilities of employment service stakeholders through theoretical learning and case sharing on employment and labor market status and job policies, aiming to improve the employment rate within the region by providing better employment services.

The curriculum covered various employment and labor issues such as job indicator statistical analysis, carbon neutrality and future societal changes, identification of excellent nationwide job projects, and regional talent development plans based on workforce and training demand. Lectures on ‘Gwangju Job Policy Planning Direction’ and ‘Gwangju Industrial Policy Trends,’ which focused on learning the employment and job policy directions expected to change after the launch of the 8th local government administration and understanding the overall industry of Gwangju Metropolitan City, received positive responses from participants.

Additionally, the ‘Honam Region Capacity Building Academy’ was jointly promoted with Jeonnam and Jeju to discover customized job creation ideas and spread best practices in the Honam region. Online lectures were produced and shared for students who found it difficult to attend offline classes, and an integrated workshop was held to facilitate close networking among Honam region job project stakeholders.

Graduates of the academy said, “Since the employment and job policy directions have been rapidly changing after the launch of the new government and the 8th local government administration, I was uncertain about how to respond, but through the academy course, I was able to learn economic, industrial, and employment trends and it became an opportunity to plan next year’s job projects.”

Chae Hwa-seok, Executive Director of the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, “As Gwangju Metropolitan City has planned a new economic map including the future-driven autonomous vehicle industry, the creation of a semiconductor future city, and a next-generation battery global leading city, the role of the academy in broadening the understanding of industry, economy, and employment policies among local employment and job officials is becoming increasingly important.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to become a practical learning center where students can fully demonstrate their abilities and achieve good results by planning excellent educational curricula and information-sharing communication programs reflecting the latest employment and industrial policies.”
