Creating a Platform for Sharing Ideas and Achievements to Advance Municipal Development

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] On the 1st, Miryang City in Gyeongnam held the ‘2022 Miryang City Public Officials Policy Development Research Association Research Results Presentation’ at the city hall auditorium, attended by about 100 employees including Mayor Park Il-ho and members of the Policy Development Research Association.
This presentation event is an opportunity for the Miryang City Public Officials Policy Development Research Association, now in its 8th year, to share research achievements over the year and seek policy alternatives that can be reflected in city administration.
As a result of the presentations by 8 teams, the Organizational Culture Creator Team, led by Chief Officer Choi Bora with the theme ‘Organizational Innovation Milbengers,’ won the grand prize, while the Smart Administration Team and the Cultural City Design Team received excellence awards.
The Policy Development Research Association, operated to foster a proactive administrative organizational culture, is a research group composed of Miryang City public officials, consisting of 8 teams and about 60 members. Members have been conducting regular brainstorming and idea meetings to discover innovative policies.
Mayor Park said in his general remarks, “The innovative ideas of the Policy Development Research Association will serve as a catalyst for revitalizing city administration,” adding, “The reason public officials rotate positions is because although the work is the same, it means to seek new changes. In that sense, I hope public officials become those who can bring change to unchanging tasks.”
