Support Up to 200 Million KRW for Small Business Owners

Kakao Pay Launches Year-End Donation Campaign to Support Small Business Owners

[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Kakao Pay is conducting a donation campaign to support small business owners as the year-end approaches.

Kakao Pay announced on the 2nd that it has launched a donation campaign this month in collaboration with the group's social contribution platform, 'Kakao Together Value (Kakao Gatigachi).' Accordingly, the 'Donate on Kakao Gatigachi' option has been added to the December 'Face Stamp Challenge' category. Users can earn stamps by donating 5,000 KRW or more via Kakao Pay to the Kakao Gatigachi fundraising box.

During the event period, Kakao Pay will donate 150 million KRW to support small business owners once users collectively accumulate 5,000 'Kakao Gatigachi Stamps.' Additionally, Kakao Pay plans to donate up to 50 million KRW more to the 'Together Working Foundation Small Business Support Fundraising Box' established on Kakao Gatigachi, contributing 1,000 KRW per user comment, share, and cheer.

The donation funds, combined with user contributions collected in the newly established Kakao Gatigachi fundraising box, will be delivered to the Together Working Foundation through Kakao Gatigachi and will be fully used to support programs that revitalize small business operations.

Starting next year, Kakao Pay plans to collaborate with the Together Working Foundation to support small business sales channels using these donations. They intend to operate programs that expand distribution channels and provide promotion and marketing support for about 80 domestic small business enterprises.

Detailed information about the year-end donation campaign can be found on the KakaoTalk Pay Home and under the 'My Pay Stamps' section in the 'Benefits' tab of the Kakao Pay app.

A Kakao Pay representative stated, “We will continue to actively pursue ways to coexist with small business owners and financially vulnerable groups.”
