Kookmin University Signs MOU with Korea Accelerator Association to Foster Startup Investment Experts

Kookmin University (President Lim Hong-jae) Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Accelerator Association (Chairman Shin Jin-oh) on November 29th at Room 404 of the Kookmin University Industry-Academic Cooperation Building to foster startup investment experts and establish an efficient network.


Through this agreement, both organizations plan to build an educational curriculum to train startup investment professionals and establish a cooperative system for mutual development.


The Korea Accelerator Association is an organization of officially registered startup planners (accelerators) under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Established in December 2017, it strives to build growth models for the sustainable development of accelerators and to conduct research and expand the startup investment ecosystem.


Shin Jin-oh, Chairman of the Korea Accelerator Association, stated, “Our association has accumulated know-how by operating numerous educational programs through partnerships with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and collaborations with various local governments. Through cooperation with Kookmin University in the field of startup education, we will strive to nurture competent prospective accelerators and bring a fresh breeze to the startup investment ecosystem.”


Kim Jong-sung, Director of the Startup Education Center at Kookmin University and Professor at the Graduate School of Global Startup Ventures, also responded, “Through this MOU, we will be able to provide specialized education for students aspiring to work as accelerators. The collaboration between the two institutions will cultivate outstanding talent in the startup investment field and further promote the development of the startup ecosystem through positive cooperation.”


At the signing ceremony, Shin Jin-oh, Chairman of the Korea Accelerator Association, Gong Seong-hyun, Secretary General, Kim Jong-sung, Director of the Startup Education Center and Professor at the Graduate School of Global Startup Ventures at Kookmin University, and Lee Jin-gu, Head of Kookmin University Technology Holdings Co., Ltd., attended and discussed phased strategies and mutual cooperation plans for the full-scale introduction of startup investment professional training education.
