[Asia Economy Reporter Noh Kyung-jo] Kim Jong-hyun, CEO of DL Chemical and Vice Chairman of DL, has been appointed as the new CEO of DL.


DL announced on the 2nd that it held a shareholders' meeting and board meeting on the 1st and appointed Vice Chairman Kim Jong-hyun as CEO.


The new CEO Kim joined the DL Group in March this year as CEO of DL Chemical. He is credited with successfully integrating the global petrochemical company Crayton, acquired last year, into the DL Group and strengthening DL Chemical's specialty business capabilities.


A DL official said, "By concurrently serving as CEO of the holding company DL and its core subsidiary DL Chemical, the new CEO Kim will more effectively lead the growth and development of the DL Group."


Since joining LG Group in 1984, he has held positions such as head of management strategy, head of rubber and specialty resin business division, and head of battery business division at LG Chem, and served as CEO of LG Energy Solution from 2020. In March, he was appointed Vice Chairman and CEO of DL Chemical. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Sungkyunkwan University and a master's degree in business administration from McGill University in Canada.
