[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] One hundred men in Ulsan who completed the 'Parenting Study' project are graduating from being novice dads.
Ulsan City announced that it will hold the '4th Ulsan 100 Dads Group Closing Ceremony' at 11 a.m. on the 3rd in the City Hall Citizen Hall.
This dads group was launched in 2019 as a joint project by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ulsan City, and the Ulsan branch of the Population Health and Welfare Association to improve awareness and overcome low birth rates.
It operates to spread positive experiences of fatherly childcare, create an atmosphere where couples participate in parenting together, and share concerns and methods about childcare.
At this closing ceremony, three outstanding dads (Jeong Seok-min, Jeong An-seok, Hwang Jin-hwan) who actively participated in the dads group activities were selected and encouraged for their efforts.
Also, all members and their families attending the closing ceremony will participate together to enjoy making Christmas mood lights and small lifestyle gardening items.
The 4th Ulsan 100 Dads Group started with an inauguration ceremony on June 11 and studied everything about parenting over seven months through weekly missions and online/offline mentoring via an online community.
During the activity period, 100 novice dads completed parenting missions in five areas: education, health, daily life, play, and relationships, as well as special missions commemorating Liberation Day and Chuseok. All processes were recorded and shared through the official dads group online community.
This 4th dads group participated in offline mentoring, which had not been possible since 2020 due to COVID-19. They attended expert lectures on parenting to become happy dads and spent time sharing childcare information and communicating with senior dads.
An official from Ulsan City said, “Through the experience program, dads and children became the main characters, enjoying magic and soap bubble performances, craft experiences, and activities using various play facilities, creating happy memories for the children.”
