[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] On the afternoon of the 2nd at 4 PM, more than 20 executives from the Ulsan Agricultural Technology Center and the Korea Life Improvement Ulsan City Federation will hold a 'Traditional Gochujang Sharing Event' in front of the Agricultural Technology Center.
Over two days starting from the 1st, members of the Life Improvement Association will donate 250kg of traditional gochujang made from local agricultural products through talent donation in jang (fermented paste) making to 200 underprivileged households in Ulsan.
The Ulsan Life Improvement Association is a women's agricultural learning organization affiliated with the Ulsan Agricultural Technology Center, consisting of 699 members across 20 chapters. It contributes to continuous rural development, supports rural women, enhances their rights, and leads volunteer activities for vulnerable groups in the local community.
Every year before the end of the year, they prepare for a warm winter by practicing community living together, making traditional gochujang themselves and delivering it to marginalized neighbors.
Chairperson Kim Jeong-sook said, “Although it is a small gift, we hold the gochujang sharing event with the members' hearts hoping to help people spend a warm winter. We hope the gochujang made with sincerity will give strength to our neighbors, and we will continue to practice love for the community.”
