[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jung] German magazine Der Spiegel reported on the 30th of last month (local time) that signs of Russia preparing a large-scale airstrike against Ukraine have been detected.
Der Spiegel stated that after analyzing satellite images taken on the 28th of last month by the U.S. private satellite company Maxar Technologies, unusual activity was detected at the Engels-2 Air Base in Saratov Oblast, Russia.
About 20 large long-range bombers of the Russian Air Force, including Tu-95 and Tu-160, were spotted on the runway of this base.
Additionally, boxes and carts believed to be carrying air-to-ground cruise missiles such as Kh-55 and Kh-101 were also observed on the airport runway.
The British daily Daily Mail mentioned the visible missile boxes and reported that "a large-scale Russian attack may be imminent."
