[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Young-won] The Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office announced on the 1st that it has indicted Kang Jin-gu (55), the representative of the YouTube media outlet 'Citizen Media The Tam-sa,' on charges of trespassing into the practice room of Song Hyun-ok, professor of Film and Arts at Sejong University and wife of Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon.
In late May, Kang raised suspicions on 'Open Sympathy TV,' the predecessor of The Tam-sa, that Song's daughter monopolized lead roles in the theater troupe founded by Professor Song and was cast in other performances due to Song's influence. Kang is accused of entering Professor Song's practice room and other locations. At that time, Kang visited Professor Song and broadcasted an interview request on YouTube.
Professor Song, who has been working at Sejong University since 2005, is an active director, having founded the theater troupe 'Mulgyeol' in 2008.
The Seoul Gwangjin Police Station investigated the case where Professor Song and her daughter filed complaints against Kang and two Open Sympathy TV associates, and in October, referred Kang to prosecution on charges of trespassing, defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act, and violation of the Public Official Election Act. The prosecution found no charges for defamation or election law violations and applied the charge of room intrusion instead of building trespass.
