Gokseong-gun Darimdol Volunteer Group Receives 'Excellence Award' in Jeonnam Blue Talent Volunteer Group Evaluation

High Ratings for Community-Oriented Talent Donations Such as Knife Sharpening, Faucet Replacement, and Massage Services

[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jong-sun] The Darimdol Volunteer Group of the Gokseong-gun Volunteer Center (Governor Lee Sang-cheol) announced on November 29 that it received the Grand Prize in the Jeonnam Blue Talent Volunteer Group Contest Project Performance Evaluation.

The Darimdol Volunteer Group is composed mainly of retired public officials from Gokseong-gun. Together with the Gokseong-gun Hope Welfare Mobile Service, they visited remote villages where residents live to provide welfare services.

Despite the difficult environment due to COVID-19, the volunteer group carried out various activities every week, including knife sharpening, faucet replacement, and massage services.

In this evaluation, the Darimdol Volunteer Group received high marks for their life-oriented talent donation activities.

In particular, repair activities necessary for daily life targeting elderly living alone and vulnerable households received positive responses.

The Darimdol Volunteer Group presented their activities at the 2022 Jeollanam-do Volunteer Center Performance Evaluation Meeting.

A volunteer group official said, "Our members gathered to contribute to the community with the talents they have after finishing their public service careers. We will continuously think about what residents need and deliver joy through volunteer activities," expressing their award acceptance remarks.

A Gokseong-gun Volunteer Center official said, "The activities of the Darimdol Volunteer Group were life-oriented customized services considering the characteristics of our county, which has many elderly residents. We sincerely thank the members who worked hard volunteering throughout the year and congratulate them on receiving the Grand Prize."
