[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] SK Inc. has appointed Lee Sung-hyung as President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to optimize its financial structure and business portfolio.
On the 1st, SK announced through the '2023 Organizational Restructuring and Executive Appointments' that it will focus organizational capabilities on four core businesses?advanced materials, green, bio, and digital?to enhance corporate value as an investment-specialized company and proactively respond to changes in the global business environment.
The newly appointed President will support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in decision-making from a comprehensive perspective, including not only financial management but also enhancing business synergies.
Additionally, by significantly strengthening investment management expertise to prepare for management uncertainties, SK plans to continuously increase corporate value. The company intends to more effectively execute financial strategy advancement, active investment fund acquisition, investment asset management enhancement, as well as business portfolio analysis, task discovery, and promotion.
The organizational structure centered on the four core businesses will be maintained as is. The four investment centers will improve operational efficiency to actively respond to changes and trends in the global investment environment, continuing performance through rapid investment opportunity discovery leveraging expertise in each area.
Through this personnel appointment, 10 new executives have been appointed, including new executives from the Bio Investment Center, Green Investment Center, Digital Investment Center, and the Finance Division.
An SK official stated, "As an investment-specialized company, we will establish an optimal organizational structure and proactively respond to changes in the management environment to achieve the goal of increasing corporate value."
