[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] President Yoon Seok-yeol's approval rating for his administration has risen, recovering to the 30% range.


According to the National Barometer Survey (NBS) conducted by four media organizations?Embrain Public, K-Stat Research, Korea Research, and Hankook Research?between the 28th and 30th of last month, via telephone interviews with 1,003 men and women aged 18 and over nationwide, and conducted biweekly every two weeks, President Yoon's approval rating increased by 3 percentage points from the previous survey to 32%. Negative evaluations dropped by 2 percentage points to 60%.


When asked why they think President Yoon is doing well, 32% answered "because he is fair and just," followed by 29% saying "because he is decisive," 11% "because he communicates well with the people," 8% "because he is competent and rational," 8% "because he fulfills promised pledges well," and 3% "because he is unifying and inclusive." Compared to the previous survey, responses citing "fair and just" and "decisive" each increased by 5 percentage points, while "unifying and inclusive" decreased by 3 percentage points.

Among those who think he is doing poorly, 38% cited "because he is autocratic and unilateral," followed by 30% "due to lack of experience and ability," 11% "appointing unsuitable figures to high positions," 7% "lack of policy vision," 6% "lack of efforts for unity and cooperation," and 5% "not fulfilling promised pledges."


Regarding party support, the Democratic Party rose by 1 percentage point from the previous survey to 34%, taking first place, while the People Power Party increased by 2 percentage points to 32%, ranking second. The Justice Party remained at 4%, and those with no party preference accounted for 27%.


Regarding President Yoon's suspension of door-stopping, 57% of respondents attributed it to the president's inappropriate attitude toward the media, while 31% saw the cause as the reporters' rude behavior. On the necessity of door-stopping, 44% said it is necessary, while 52% said it is not.
