[Asia Economy Reporter Tae-min Ryu] Kumho Construction announced on the 1st that it donated 400 bags of rice purchased from a village partnered through its One Company One Village program by visiting Jongno-gu Office and Cheongam Regional Children's Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 30th.

The donation event was held with the attendance of Jung Moon-heon, head of Jongno-gu Office, and Seo Jae-hwan, CEO of Kumho Construction. The donated rice will be distributed to neighbors in need, including basic livelihood security households and low-income child households in the district, through Jongno-gu Office and Cheongam Regional Children's Center.

Cheongam Regional Children's Center is a child welfare facility that provides after-school learning guidance for elementary school students in the district. Since 2009, Kumho Construction has continuously maintained its relationship by supporting remodeling of the facility and donating agricultural products every year.

The donated rice was produced in Sagok-ri Village, Jeungpyeong-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, which has a One Company One Village partnership with Kumho Construction. Since 2014, Kumho Construction has purchased agricultural products directly cultivated in Sagok-ri Village every year to support farmers facing difficulties, while donating these products to local communities in need, practicing sharing and coexistence.

Regarding this donation, a Kumho Construction official said, “We made this donation to help activate the consumption of farmers' agricultural products and support vulnerable neighbors marginalized within the region. We will seek various social contribution campaigns to ensure that companies and society can develop and progress together, and continue to practice ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.”

Meanwhile, Kumho Construction is continuously carrying out various social contribution activities beyond agricultural product donations. It leads several coexistence activities such as holding the ‘Eoullim Concert’ for culturally vulnerable children and donating the proceeds earned from holding an in-house flea market.
