[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Sh수협 Bank announced on the 1st that it has appointed four new outside directors.
At the 6th extraordinary general meeting of shareholders held the previous day, Suhyup Bank resolved to appoint the new outside directors as Oh Gyutaek, former Science and Technology Innovation Coordinator at the Ministry of Science and ICT; Nam Bonghyun, former President of Incheon Port Authority; Lee Seokho, Head of Insurance and Pension Research at the Korea Institute of Finance; and Choi Hyungrim, Professor Emeritus at Dong-A University.
New outside director Oh Gyutaek graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in Economics and earned a master's degree from the University of Birmingham in the UK. He served as Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs of Ulsan Metropolitan City, Director General of Fiscal Management at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, and Science and Technology Innovation Coordinator at the Ministry of Science and ICT.
New outside director Nam Bonghyun graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Economics, obtained master's degrees from Seoul National University Graduate School and Missouri State University in the US, and completed doctoral coursework at Chung-Ang University. He served as Secretary General of the Lottery Commission at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, Cooperative Policy Officer, Director of the Treasury Department, Planning and Coordination Director at the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and President of Incheon Port Authority.
New outside director Lee Seokho majored in Insurance Management and Actuarial Science at Temple University in the US and earned both master's and doctoral degrees from the same university. He has held positions such as Head of the Insurance Finance Research Center, Director of Planning and Cooperation, and Head of the Insurance and Pension Research Center at the Korea Institute of Finance, where he currently serves as Head of the Insurance and Pension Research Office.
New outside director Choi Hyungrim graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Business Administration and earned master's and doctoral degrees from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. He has served as Dean of the College of Business Administration at Dong-A University, Chairman of the Policy Advisory Committee at the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Non-executive Director at the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives, and currently holds positions as Policy Advisor for Busan Metropolitan City and Professor Emeritus at Dong-A University.
The term of the new outside directors is two years, from December 1 to November 30, 2024.
