Chorokbaem Media-KStar, Producing Various Original IPs... "Strengthening Content Competitiveness"

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] K-STAR, an entertainment and variety channel operated by Chorokbaem Media, announced on the 1st that it is strengthening its media competitiveness through various original entertainment contents.

The K-STAR channel has recently stood out in entertainment by breaking its own viewership records through the reality entertainment show "Goding Eomppa." Goding Eomppa is a reality entertainment program that observes the daily lives of high school student mothers and fathers who experience marriage, childbirth, and parenting as teenagers. Based on high public interest, the currently airing Season 2 surpassed a 3.0% viewership rating, breaking the highest rating of Season 1 (2.3%).

A representative from K-STAR channel said, "Goding Eomppa realistically shows not only the touching stories of teenagers who became parents and tried to take full responsibility for their children but also the difficulties in parenting caused by 'teenage biological fathers' who irresponsibly left, and the reality of living with their parents while raising their children due to lack of proper housing."

He added, "Although there are criticisms that it glamorizes or commercializes youth sexual culture, it has been praised for bringing the realistic sexual issues of teenagers, which had remained in the shadows, into the spotlight. Above all, it showed the bare truth that pregnancy and marriage are not vague romantic notions but infinite self-sacrifice and harsh reality."

K-STAR channel is recently expanding its programs into the sports entertainment field. "Pahaha" is a golf beginner entertainment program featuring 'Haha,' who has no knowledge, interest, or experience in golf, starting golf purely out of love for his father and a sense of obligation, beginning 100% involuntarily.

Also, "Birdie Boys" is a new-concept project where MZ generation male idols with outstanding golf skills enjoy golf and travel together, reflecting the MZ generation's trend of immersive healing golf trips. Additionally, "Korea Badminton," scheduled to air for the first time on the 18th of next month, is a sports entertainment program representing the new badminton trend among the MZ generation.

A representative from Chorokbaem Media said, "Going forward, Chorokbaem Media plans to select the most suitable channels and platforms for the characteristics of its self-produced content and distribute them accordingly. Instead of the method where broadcasters or platforms guarantee a certain level of profit while taking the IP, we will pursue a distribution strategy that fully owns the IP and sells broadcasting rights."
