[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] On the 1st, the National Police Agency announced that it will hold the 3rd "Police Grand Innovation Task Force (TF) General Meeting" at the Seodaemun-gu office in Seoul, chaired by co-chairs Lee Chang-won, President of Hansung University, and Cho Hyun-bae, former Commissioner of the Korea Coast Guard.
Through this meeting, the TF will review the progress of reform tasks being promoted by each team. Discussions will also cover innovation in police organizational culture, including competency- and task-centered human resource management plans. Additionally, plans for a "Police Education Grand Reform" will continue, including establishing a competency-based education system by function and career, and introducing on-site, continuous training to cultivate security experts.
The TF will also discuss and prepare measures to strengthen cooperation among related agencies such as local governments and fire departments to ensure citizen safety during mass gatherings like local festivals and events.
