[Seoul District News] Bus Service Resumes After 2 Years 9 Months with Revised Routes from First Trip on 1st & 8 New Stops Added for Both Directions & Local Residents' Request for Nokbeon Station Stop Reflected
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that the airport bus 6012, which runs between Gupabal and Incheon Airport, will resume operation from the first bus on the 1st with a newly established route passing through Nokbeon Station and Eunpyeong-gu Office.
This resumption of service comes after 2 years and 9 months since it was suspended in March 2020 due to the impact of COVID-19.
During the suspension period, about 5,705 newly built apartment units were occupied around Nokbeon Station, bringing significant changes. There has been a steady demand from local residents for the airport bus to pass through Nokbeon Station.
Accordingly, the district has been continuously consulting with the airport limousine bus company and Seoul City, which has the authority to approve route adjustments, to reflect residents' transportation needs. As a result of the consultation, airport bus 6012 will resume operation from the first bus on the 1st with a revised route passing through Nokbeon Station and Eunpyeong-gu Office.
The main route revision is the addition of stops between Bulgwang and Yeokchon, adjusting the route to Bulgwang~Nokbeon~Eunpyeong-gu Office~Yeokchon.
A total of eight new stops have been added: in the Gupabal to Incheon Airport direction, three stops at Bukhansan Prugio, Nokbeon Station, and Eunpyeong-gu Office were newly established. In the Incheon Airport to Gupabal direction, five stops were added at Eunpyeong-gu Office, Hillstate Nokbeon Station Apartments, Nokbeon-dong Daerim JR Apartments, Hillstate Nokbeon Apartments, and Bukhansan Prugio.
The existing Yeokchon Station stop on the Incheon Airport to Gupabal direction and the Bulgwang Station and Seoul Innovation Park stops in both directions have been relocated to ensure smooth route operation. For detailed timetables, please refer to the airport limousine website.
Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, said, “The establishment of the stops that local residents have long desired is expected to greatly improve transportation convenience,” and added, “We will continue to actively reflect residents' demands in transportation policies.”
