Jinju City Conducts Public Officials' Professionalism Training Conducting civil servant competency training.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the afternoon of the 30th, Jinju City in Gyeongnam conducted a training session titled "Understanding National Heritage" for about 200 public officials at the Citizens' Hall on the 2nd floor of City Hall.

This training was organized to properly understand the cultural assets of Jinju City following the change in terminology from "cultural properties," used for 60 years since the enactment of the Cultural Heritage Protection Act in 1962, to "national heritage."

The lecture was delivered by Hwang Kwon-soon, Director of Cultural Heritage Preservation at the Cultural Heritage Administration, covering ▲ the background and direction of introducing the national heritage system ▲ the definition and conceptual establishment of national heritage ▲ the preservation, management, and utilization system of national heritage.

Mayor Cho Gyu-il, who attended the training, said, "Our city, where a thousand years of history breathes, is so rich in cultural assets that it can be called an open-air museum. I hope today's lecture serves as an opportunity for public officials to rethink their roles in properly understanding our city's cultural assets and enhancing cultural dignity."
