[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] A woman in her 20s who is accused of secretly entering her ex-boyfriend's house armed with a weapon and hiding in a wardrobe has been referred to the prosecution.

On the 30th, the Gangseo Police Station in Seoul announced that they had sent Ms. A, a woman in her 20s suspected of violating the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes, trespassing, and special intimidation, to the prosecution without detention the previous day.

According to the police, Ms. A is accused of secretly entering an officetel in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, where her ex-boyfriend lives, on the 22nd, armed with a weapon and hiding inside a wardrobe. She is also accused of threatening her ex-boyfriend Mr. B with the weapon when discovered.

At around 5 p.m. on the same day, Mr. B reported to the police that "my ex-girlfriend is hiding in the house and changed the password, so I cannot enter; please accompany me." Upon receiving the report, the police called a locksmith to forcibly open the front door and began searching the house. When they opened the wardrobe, they found Ms. A. It is reported that Ms. A pointed the weapon at herself and said, "If you don't meet me, I will die."

The police calmed Ms. A down, confiscated the weapon, and arrested her. The police took safety measures for Mr. B as a crime victim and imposed provisional measures such as banning Ms. A from approaching his residence.
