On the 30th, Gyeonggi Province held the '11th Gyeonggi-do Integrity Awards' ceremony at the multipurpose conference room of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office, attended by Governor Kim Dong-yeon, provincial department heads, and award recipients.
At this year's ceremony, Yongin City and the Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation each received the highest honors in the institution and organization categories, respectively. Additionally, Anyang City and the Gyeonggi Agricultural and Fisheries Promotion Institute received excellence awards, while Ansan City and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization were given encouragement awards. In the individual category, Kim Woo-sik from the Next Generation Convergence Technology Institute received an excellence award.
Yongin City, which won the Best Institution Award, was highly evaluated for improving the permit and civil complaint processing tasks by preventing indiscriminate supplementary requests from officials through type analysis and database construction of frequently occurring supplementary items during building permit issuance, thereby shortening the civil complaint processing period.
The Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation, awarded the Best Organization Award, introduced an employee-participatory program to prevent power abuse and conflicts of interest and established an institutional foundation to operate it stably. They also strengthened expertise through the Integrity Citizen Auditor system and received high scores by steadily improving integrity for three consecutive years in the integrity evaluation of Gyeonggi Province's public-related organizations.
Kim Woo-sik from the Next Generation Convergence Technology Institute, who won the individual excellence award, was recognized for establishing a phased revision procedure to increase internal staff understanding and acceptance of corruption prevention system improvement tasks recommended by Gyeonggi Province and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, and for effectively implementing them through active communication.
The Gyeonggi-do Integrity Awards have been held annually since 2012 to discover and honor institutions and organizations within the province that have contributed to improving integrity and preventing corruption. Awardees receive plaques and prize money ranging from 5 million to 10 million KRW (for institutions).
