[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The ‘2022 DSU LINC 3.0 Capstone Design FAIR,’ organized by the LINC 3.0 Project Group of Dongseo University, was recently held on the 6th floor of the UIT Building and in the International Conference Room.
This event was prepared to motivate students by awarding outstanding projects among the capstone design assignments that students designed and produced themselves, and to expand the achievements through external exhibition and promotion of the works.
The opening ceremony was attended by President Jang Je-guk, appointed professors, and supervising professors, and Seo Yong-cheol, director of the Busan Institute of Industrial Science and Innovation, attended externally to congratulate the event.
At this fair, 59 excellent works selected in the first round of judging were exhibited. Among them, 10 teams received encouragement awards, 6 teams received excellence awards, and 2 teams received grand prizes.
The grand prize was awarded to the ‘Health Factory’ team, a fusion team from the Department of Game Studies and the Department of Exercise Prescription, for their ‘Exercise App Content for Spinal Cord Injury Patients,’ receiving a certificate and a prize money of 1 million won as a reward.
In the first year of the LINC 3.0 project, about 1,000 teams and 4,600 students participated in the capstone design program. Through the program, students had the opportunity to enhance their practical skills and develop problem-solving abilities.
The voice phishing prevention campaign video produced by the Department of Advertising and Public Relations and provided by the Saha Police Station through the capstone design program has been utilized at the National Police Agency headquarters and has gained popularity to the extent that Japanese netizens have translated and uploaded its content.
President Jang Je-guk said in his opening remarks, “The capstone design program of the LINC 3.0 project group is showing top-class domestic results as the number of participating students continues to increase,” and evaluated, “As proven by external awards, our students have grown to a level where they can feel proud.”
President Jang added, “We will continue to strengthen practical skills and nurture talents sought by companies.”
Hwang Gi-hyun, head of the LINC 3.0 project group, said, “By performing capstone design projects in collaboration with local companies, we are enhancing students’ capabilities while also playing a role as members of the local community,” and added, “We will continue to devote more effort to creating positive outcomes of capstone design through communication among industry, academia, research, and government.”
