FnGuide Holds Awards Ceremony for 'Big Data Financial Idea Competition'

[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] Financial information company FnGuide announced on the 30th that it successfully concluded the 'Digital Industry Innovation Big Data Platform Utilization Financial Idea Competition.'

Now in its second year, this competition was hosted by the National Information Society Agency (NIA) and organized by FnGuide, aiming to discover various content and business ideas using financial, corporate finance, and industry data within the Digital Industry Innovation Big Data Platform.

The Digital Industry Innovation Big Data Platform is a consortium that connects big data across industries?including companies, patents, imports and exports, M&A, R&D, startups, talent, and investment information?to solve industry field problems and prepare effective responses to the new normal era such as COVID-19 and the 4th Industrial Revolution. It is one of the 16 big data platforms operated by the Ministry of Science and ICT since 2019.

Under the theme "Let's Change the World with Data," a total of 16 teams participated in the competition. After about three months of the first document screening and the second presentation evaluation, one Grand Prize team, one Excellence Award team, one Merit Award team, and one Special Award team were selected.

▲ The Grand Prize was awarded to the team led by Younghwan Jo (Choinsoo, Geunwoo Kim) for their project "Development of an Explainable Financial Portfolio Recommendation Service Framework Combining Fundamental Analysis and Network-Based Technical Analysis." ▲ The Excellence Award went to the team led by Taewon Yoon for "Metastock," a metaverse-based social investing platform. ▲ The Merit Award was given to the team led by Hojin Choi (Minseo Choi, Daeun Kim, Junyong Park) for "ESG Rating Prediction Using Financial Information." ▲ The Special Award was granted to the team led by Jinwon Jo (Hyelin Jeon, Jaeyoon Jung) for "Investment Risk Management Idea Through Delisting Prediction Using Corporate Financial Information."

Heesoo Kim, head of FnGuide who served as a judge, stated, "Many innovative contents and ideas were presented that can integrate big data, artificial intelligence (AI), and metaverse?key technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution?into the capital market," adding, "We plan to continue supporting these ideas so they can lead to actual product development."
