The Geumho 1-dong Community Security Council (Chairman Kim Jeong-gyun) was concerned about kimchi for vulnerable groups during winter, and learned that Kwon Dong-sik Aventino Foundation has been providing a lot of support for neighbors in need.
The head of Geumho 1-dong prepared a business plan and directly visited the Kwon Dong-sik Aventino Foundation, successfully arranging a meeting and receiving a promise of support from the foundation.
Afterwards, the self-governing organizations of Geumho 1-dong agreed to make kimchi together and deliver it to care neighbors in need, and promoted a sharing event at the Geumho 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center.
The Kwon Dong-sik Aventino Foundation is a social welfare corporation established with a 5 billion KRW endowment by a woman in her 40s who lost her husband (the late Kwon Dong-sik Aventino, Catholic) and carries on her husband's will. The foundation has long provided extensive support for vulnerable groups in welfare blind spots.
The foundation stated, "Through the kimjang sharing event, we hope that care neighbors will have a warm winter, and we will continue to extend helping hands for many vulnerable groups around us."
Song Min-cheol, head of Geumho 1-dong, said, "It is meaningful that the public and private sectors cooperated to discover sponsors, and I am grateful that neighbors in difficulty around us can spend a warm winter," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that Geumho 1-dong becomes a sharing and coexistence village of love where no residents are marginalized."
