The 2nd "Forest Technicians' Day" Event Successfully Held in Damyang

'Imagine in the Forest, Realize in the Forest', December 28-29 at Damyang Sports Complex

Fostering Pride and Unity Among Forestry Technicians

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang-gun, Jeonnam announced on the 30th that the '2nd Forest Technicians' Day' event for the protection of the rights of forest technicians nationwide and the development of the forest industry was held at Damyang Sports Complex from the 28th to the 29th.

This event was organized to promote pride through the declaration of a vision for the direction forest technicians should take and to foster unity among forest technicians. It was hosted by the Korea Forest Technicians Association, organized by the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch, and sponsored by the Korea Forest Service, Jeonnam Province, and Damyang-gun.

Under the slogan "Imagine in the Forest, Realize in the Forest," the two-day event began with a pre-event on the afternoon of the 28th. On the 29th, the main day, there were pre-ceremony performances, demonstrations of forest technology, reading of the Forest Technicians' Rights Charter, declaration of the forest technicians' vision, welcoming remarks, encouragement speeches, congratulatory addresses, and awards for outstanding forest technicians.

The commemorative event was graced by the presence of Nam Seong-hyun, head of the Korea Forest Service, National Assembly member Lee Gae-ho, Damyang County Governor Lee Byeong-no, Damyang County Council Chairman Choi Yong-man, Damyang County council members, and Korea Forest Technicians Association President Jeong Byeong-cheon.

Governor Lee Byeong-no said, "It is an honor to hold the 2nd Forest Technicians' Day event in Damyang-gun," and added, "I hope that Forest Technicians' Day will be established as a platform for forest industry exchange by promoting the economic and public functions of forests and fostering unity among forest technicians."
