The Bank of Korea announced on the 30th that it plans to hold a 'Monetary Policy Workshop' for domestic university professors specializing in macroeconomics and finance on the 1st of next month.


This workshop has been held annually since 2007 with the purpose of increasing interest and understanding of the Bank of Korea's policies and operations, and exchanging opinions on major economic issues. This year, it will be held in person for the first time in three years.


In Session 1 (Economic Trends and Monetary Policy Operations), discussions will cover economic trends, financial stability conditions, and future directions for monetary policy operations, while Session 2 (Regional Economic Issues) will focus on discussions under the themes of 'Regional Housing Price Trends and Risk Assessment' and 'Evaluation of Conditions for Ulsan Economy's Rebound and Tasks for a Virtuous Cycle of Growth.'


The Bank of Korea explained, "As an economic think tank, we plan to strengthen research not only on economic conditions and policy issues but also on regional economic issues, and actively exchange opinions with academia and others."
