[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan Port Authority (BPA) has selected Korea Hutchison Terminal as the operator of Busan Port North Port New Gamman Pier and Gamman Pier (Berth No. 1).
On the 30th, BPA announced that only one company applied during the re-announcement period for the selection of the operator of Busan Port North Port New Gamman Pier and Gamman Pier (Berth No. 1), which was held from the 17th to the 28th.
On the 29th, an external evaluation committee was formed to assess the sole applicant, and as a result, Korea Hutchison Terminal was finally selected as the preferred negotiation partner.
BPA plans to conduct negotiations with Korea Hutchison Terminal, the preferred negotiation partner, within one month. The main topics of negotiation will concern the mutual rights and obligations related to the lease contract.
Once negotiations with the preferred negotiation partner are successfully concluded, a lease contract will be signed, finalizing the selection of the operator.
A BPA official stated, “To ensure the stable operation of the Busan Port North Port container terminal, we will conduct thorough negotiations with the preferred negotiation partner to select the operator in a timely manner and ensure that the target pier can operate normally.”
