‘Click’ to Know My Mind... Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency’s ‘Jikjangin Ma-eum Sseudam Sseudam’ Access, Self-Check & Free Consultation Available

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency will launch the campaign "Office Workers' Mind Sseudam Sseudam" from December 1 to support the mental health recovery of job seekers and office workers.

This campaign is designed as a program to help office workers recover their mental health in situations where mental health issues may worsen due to COVID-19 blues and other factors.

By accessing the related website, individuals can self-assess their current mental state across seven categories including depression, job stress, suicide, post-traumatic stress, and workplace bullying.

Subsequently, those who wish can receive free counseling by connecting with nearby psychological counseling centers operated by the Ministry of Employment and Labor (Worker Health Centers, Worker Welfare Net, Employment Centers).

The number of workers approved for industrial accident compensation due to mental illness has been increasing annually over the past five years. In 2021, the total was 513, showing an increase of nearly 214% compared to 126 in 2017.

By industry, mental illness cases have been reported in the following order: other businesses 852, manufacturing 320, transportation, warehousing, and telecommunications 113, and finance and insurance 81.

Among these, about 20% have resulted in extreme choices, highlighting the importance of mental health management across society.

The agency plans to add various formats of content to support recovery through the "Office Workers' Mind Sseudam Sseudam" campaign, including campaign songs, videos, and card news to promote healthy minds.

Director Ahn Jong-joo of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency said, "Just as we have a health checkup once a year, there is a need for opportunities to reflect on oneself to protect and recover a healthy mind," adding, "I hope this campaign will serve as a chance for workers to take an interest in their mental health."
