Godae 1905 Apple Jam Pastry Release
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] CU, a convenience store operated by BGF Retail, announced on the 30th that it will release a premium bread called ‘Kodae1905 Apple Jam Pastry’ in collaboration with Korea University.
The Kodae1905 Apple Jam Pastry is characterized by the use of apple jam developed in-house by CU. The apple jam filling is made by finely chopping domestically grown high-sugar apples and simmering them with sugar, lemon, and cinnamon powder, and red bean paste is placed inside the rolled pastry.
Instead of regular bread, pastry is used to add a softer texture, and depending on preference, it can be cooked in an oven or air fryer to enjoy it as an apple pie.
This product was the highest-rated among dozens of prototypes produced over more than six months by CU’s bread product planners (MD) and product development team.
The product packaging was designed inspired by the Korea University jumper. It emphasizes the collaboration product by engraving the tiger mark and the English name of Korea University, ‘KOREA UNIV,’ in the school’s symbolic colors.
Starting with the release of the Kodae1905 Apple Jam Pastry, CU plans to continuously expand the product lineup by reflecting customer responses and consumption trends.
Jinyoungho, Head of Product Division at BGF Retail, said, “As CU’s first official collaboration product with a university, we put countless research and effort into presenting a highly complete and differentiated quality product. With growing expectations for convenience store desserts recently, we will continue to delight customers with innovative new products.”
