"Expanded Selection by Price Range" Homeplus Pre-Orders Lunar New Year Gift Sets

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Homeplus announced on the 30th that it will conduct pre-order sales of Lunar New Year gift sets across all channels including large marts, Express stores, and online from next month 1st until January 11th of next year, for a total of 42 days.

The biggest advantage of pre-ordering is the large discounts and various benefits offered. Homeplus is promoting up to 40% discount when paying with event cards, and up to 1.5 million KRW worth of gift certificates or instant discounts depending on the purchase amount. Additionally, a 10% discount coupon is given for online purchases over 100,000 KRW. A Homeplus representative said, "We have prepared so that 'early bird customers' can receive more benefits ahead of the earlier Lunar New Year compared to previous years."

They explained that the pre-order items are organized by price range to broaden customer choices. Practical gift sets priced under 50,000 KRW, which have high customer demand, account for nearly 70% of the total, with a wide variety of products prepared. These include pocket nurungji nut mixed sets priced under 10,000 KRW, 30-pack daily nuts sets, CJ Myeongga native seaweed No. 5, Homeplus Signature ASC certified millet seaweed kelp sets, Dongseo Food Kanu Americano set No. 8, and LG Propolis gift sets, all available in the 9,000 to 20,000 KRW range.

They also prepared premium gift sets composed at optimal prices despite their high cost. Shine Muscat mango sets, Gung beef jerky gift sets, Wando abalone sets raised for 1,000 days, Nonghyup safe Korean beef tail frozen sets, Brooks Diamond LA-style flower ribs frozen sets, etc., are offered in the 40,000 to 70,000 KRW range. Targeting premium demand, they also offer products priced in the high 400,000 KRW range such as Number Nine (No.9) 1++ grade Korean beef omakase chilled sets and Black Label Korean beef tomahawk BBQ steak chilled sets.

As high inflation continues, pre-order purchases of holiday gift sets are also increasing. Practical customers seeking early bird benefits are growing, making pre-ordering a new trend in holiday gift set purchases. The pre-order proportion of Homeplus’s gift set sales during last Chuseok exceeded 60%.
