[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Lee Jun-hyung] The competition authorities have begun reviewing whether the Cargo Solidarity strike violates the Fair Trade Act.
On the 29th, the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) announced that it has started examining whether the Cargo Solidarity engaged in unfair collective actions and violations of prohibited acts by business associations. The KFTC plans to investigate whether the Cargo Solidarity forced member businesses to refuse transportation or obstructed transportation by other businesses.
The KFTC stated it will respond strictly if the Cargo Solidarity is found to have violated the law. A KFTC official said, "If any charges of violating the Fair Trade Act are discovered against the Cargo Solidarity, we will respond according to the law and principles."
