Boseong-gun set 2023 as the year to fully implement the policies of the 8th elected term and announced that it will achieve ‘Running Again Boseong 3·6·5’ with the spirit of Yeomin Gayi (與民可矣), meaning "anything is possible with the residents."

Boseong-gun highlighted major achievements such as ▲achieving a comprehensive integrity rating of grade 2, ranking 1st in Jeonnam, ▲securing 16.8 billion KRW in local extinction response funds, ▲promoting the 218.5 billion KRW-scale Yeojaman National Tidal Flat Marine Garden Project, ▲issuing 43 billion KRW worth of Boseong Love Gift Certificates, ▲designation of Obongsan Gudlejang Quarry as a national registered cultural heritage, and ▲achieving the highest grade for two consecutive years in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s government innovation evaluation, emphasizing that these were accomplished through the united efforts of residents, the council, and public officials.

Next, the 2023 county administration direction was presented with five major goals: ▲welfare without exclusion and reliable administration with residents, ▲promotion of agriculture and fisheries for shared prosperity, ▲attractive culture, sports, and tourism, ▲green growth and revitalization of the local economy, and ▲improvement of living conditions through regional development.

Key projects in each field include ▲Boseong-type senior job projects, ▲Village Welfare 600 Project, ▲activation of the Hometown Love Donation System, ▲annual expansion of 1.2 million KRW agricultural and fishery public service allowances, ▲active cultivation of Boseong Kiwi, ▲hosting the 2nd Integrated Festival, ▲establishment of distinctive marine and forest tourism infrastructure, ▲formulation of the 2050 carbon neutrality mid- to long-term plan, ▲creation of the 2nd agricultural and industrial complex, ▲completion of the Sinheung Hills comprehensive development project, and ▲preparation of fishery infrastructure, aiming to lay the foundation for the era of a 1 trillion KRW budget.

Boseong-gun stated, “While budgeting in line with the government’s fiscal austerity policy, we have strived to maximize the budget necessary for residents’ lives, such as welfare and economic revitalization,” and requested the cooperation of the county council for the smooth implementation of key projects that can give hope to residents in the new year.

Meanwhile, Boseong-gun submitted a 2023 main budget of 620 billion KRW, an increase of 30.4 billion KRW from the 2022 main budget of 589.6 billion KRW, to the county council, which is expected to be finalized after review in December.
