[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jonghwa] The Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA) announced that it will actively promote the 'Integrity Voluntary Practice Tasks' within the year to spread a culture of integrity and establish ethical management within the organization.
This year's Integrity Voluntary Practice Tasks include 48 tasks across four areas?integrity education, information disclosure, system improvement, and other activities?developed and participated in by all TIPA departments. Currently, 31 tasks have been completed.
The Integrity Voluntary Practice Tasks consist of activities aimed at preventing corruption in various fields, such as △conducting integrity education for institutions and personnel involved in SME R&D projects, △disclosing recruitment status information to enhance transparency and reliability in the hiring process, △realizing integrity through compliance with corporate card usage regulations, and △ensuring transparency in subsidy support management.
TIPA took the lead in practicing ethical management by becoming the first domestic R&D specialized institution to acquire the ISO 37001 certification, the international standard for anti-bribery management systems, in 2017, and subsequently received approval for the renewal of this certification in December last year.
Lee Jae-hong, President of TIPA, stated, "Through the company-wide promotion of the Integrity Voluntary Practice Tasks this year, we plan to strengthen self-monitoring in vulnerable areas and improve systems and environments where corruption could occur." He added, "We will continue to make our best efforts to proactively fulfill our social responsibilities as a public institution."
