Gochang-gun Selected as an Excellent Institution for Public Sewer Operation and Management Inspection

[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeonbuk Gochang-gun was selected as an excellent institution for two consecutive years in the Ministry of Environment's '2022 Public Sewer Operation and Management Inspection' conducted on 161 local governments nationwide.

According to the county on the 29th, the Ministry of Environment conducts an annual evaluation to inspect the operation and management status of public sewer management institutions to establish a competitive sewer system and improve the efficiency of operation and management.

This evaluation was conducted by classifying 161 local governments nationwide into four groups according to total population, and detailed criteria were applied to 32 items in three areas: sewer operation, management, and policy.

The county was recognized as an excellent institution in the professional evaluation team's assessment for achieving stricter water quality management and odor reduction than the river discharge water quality standards through continuous facility improvements and stable operation of sewage treatment facilities.

County Governor Shim Deokseop said, "Being selected as an excellent institution in this evaluation is the result of the hard work of all employees of the Water and Sewage Business Office and the management agency," and added, "We will continue to comply with public sewer policies and actively improve sewer facilities to keep Gochang-gun, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve area, clean."
