Gijang-gun conducted a child abuse prevention awareness campaign with related organizations on the 23rd and 24th.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan Gijang-gun conducted a 'Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Campaign' over two days on the 23rd and 24th to coincide with the '16th Child Abuse Prevention Day,' aiming to improve social awareness of child abuse and encourage immediate reporting when abused children are discovered.
'Child Abuse Prevention Day' is designated annually on November 19. It has been commemorated since 2007 to recognize the seriousness of child abuse and to protect children from abuse, marking its 16th year this year.
This campaign was carried out as part of strengthening the child abuse response system in collaboration with the Gijang Police Station and the Busan Eastern Child Protection Agency.
By distributing promotional materials containing the child abuse reporting phone number, types of child abuse, and the abolition of disciplinary rights under Civil Act Article 915, as well as holding a photo exhibition related to child abuse, the campaign effectively raised awareness of children's rights and promoted child abuse prevention among local residents.
County Governor Jeong Jong-bok stated, "Through this campaign, I hope the perception that children are equal individuals rather than possessions will spread," adding, "I hope this serves not only to raise awareness of the importance of preventing child abuse but also as an opportunity to realize a community where all children are happy and respected."
