Gwangju Seo-gu Chipyeong-dong Strives to Achieve '100% Water Pressure Control' Goal

According to Chipeong-dong, Seo-gu on the 28th, about 50 people including representatives of residents and managers of 17 apartments belonging to the Sangmu District Apartment Association, Seo-gu Mayor Kim Yi-gang, and related officials held a water-saving practice resolution meeting on the afternoon of the 28th at the 2nd-floor meeting room of the Chipeong-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Seo-gu.

At this meeting, Chipeong-dong residents shared the water shortage situation and discussed specific practical measures.

The residents unanimously said, "Due to the worst drought in history, the depletion crisis of our water sources, Juam Dam and Dongbok Dam, is becoming a reality," and "We must take the lead in practicing water conservation with one heart and one mind starting from Chipeong-dong."

In particular, since adjusting the water pressure in each household can save 20-40% more water than usual, Chipeong-dong decided to autonomously reduce the water valve pressure at the apartment level.

Chipeong-dong plans to continuously carry out practical water-saving activities applicable to daily life, such as a toothbrush cup delivery ceremony for Chipeong Elementary School students, relay promotional activities for water-saving practice by village organizations in Chipeong-dong, reducing water pressure in public park restrooms, and placing water bottles in toilets within the district.

Chipeong-dong Mayor Jo Jin-ok said, "The voluntary willingness of residents to practice will be a precious driving force to overcome the crisis."
