Gwangju Seo-gu Conducts Capacity Building Training for New Public Officials

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Yi-gang) announced on the 28th that it conducted capacity-building training for new public officials from the 22nd to the 25th.

This training was held to share the direction of Seo-gu district administration under the 8th elected term and to enhance the capabilities of new public officials, with the participation of 72 newly appointed public officials of Seo-gu Office.

Through the training, new public officials cultivated the basic competencies required as public servants and received knowledge and know-how helpful for their public service careers.

In particular, various programs such as communication training using team-building techniques and on-site learning within the district were organized for new public officials who had lacked opportunities for interaction and communication due to the impact of COVID-19, receiving great responses.

Also, District Mayor Kim Yi-gang and the new public officials had a time of mutual communication to share Seo-gu’s vision and direction and to encourage their future public service careers.

One public official who completed the training said, “This training was very helpful in understanding the responsibilities and roles of public officials,” and added, “It was a meaningful time to communicate with my colleagues.”
