[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do, is recruiting tenants for the Yeonggwang Danju Happy Housing (public rental housing), which is being promoted through a business agreement with Korea Land and Housing Corporation (hereinafter LH).
According to the county on the 28th, Happy Housing is supplied to young people, newlyweds, and the elderly at rents more than 20% lower than the surrounding market prices, and tenants can live for up to 6 to 20 years depending on the type of tenant.
The total number of units for this recruitment is 300, with move-in available in June 2024.
Eligibility prioritizes county residents and includes young people aged 19 to 39, newlywed couples married within 7 years, single-parent families with children under 6 years old, and elderly persons aged 65 or older.
Qualifications and rental conditions vary by type of rental housing, and detailed information can be checked through the banner posted on the ‘LH Subscription Center’ and the county website after the tenant recruitment announcement early next month.
Applications for Happy Housing subscription will be accepted online and via mobile through the ‘LH Subscription Center’ from the 12th to the 21st of next month, following the tenant recruitment announcement scheduled for the 1st of next month.
For internet-vulnerable groups such as the disabled and elderly, on-site applications will also be accepted for two days from the 19th to the 20th of next month at a separately prepared location on the first floor of the county office annex.
A county official said, “Danju Happy Housing aims to stabilize housing for young people such as those starting their careers and newlyweds, as well as housing-vulnerable groups like the elderly, and to resolve housing issues for employees working in local companies, expecting an influx of population. We will do our best to improve housing welfare and create a pleasant residential environment.”
Meanwhile, the Yeonggwang Danju Happy Housing is currently 25% complete, with structural work underway.
