Hyundai Motor Securities Achieves ESG Integrated 'A' Grade for 3 Consecutive Years

[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] Hyundai Motor Securities announced on the 28th that it has been recognized for excellence in sustainable management by receiving an integrated ‘A’ grade for three consecutive years in the ESG evaluation announced annually by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS). The integrated ‘A’ grade in the ESG evaluation is the highest grade among securities firms, and Hyundai Motor Securities is the only one to achieve this for three consecutive years.

Recently, the capital market has been spreading a trend of comprehensively considering Environmental, Social, and Governance factors. The ESG evaluation by KCGS has been the representative domestic ESG evaluation assessing the sustainability management level of listed companies and financial firms in Korea since 2011.

Hyundai Motor Securities received an ‘A+’ grade for three consecutive years in the Social (S) area, which evaluates employee working environment, information protection, and safety and health, and received ‘B+’ grades in the Environmental (E) and Governance (G) areas, respectively.

A Hyundai Motor Securities official said, “Since establishing an ESG promotion system as an industry leader in 2020, we have been promoting the establishment of ESG strategies and policies and internalization among employees. This year, we published our first-ever sustainability management report,” adding, “We will not be complacent with this evaluation result and will accelerate ESG management to achieve sustainable growth.”

Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor Securities is focusing on ESG key promotion strategies to expand investment and consulting in eco-friendly infrastructure such as renewable energy, hydrogen, and CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage), advance ESG research, and strengthen ESG risk management.
